Detailed Itinerary:

DAY 1: Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met & assisted to check in for your domestic flight into Manyara. On arrival into Manyara Airstrip, your guide will meet you and transfer you by road to The Highlands, located on the edge of Olmoti Crater. The journey will take 3 hours through coffee plantations and you will enjoy a packed lunch on the way. Stop at the viewpoint to admire the spectacular landscape, before continuing your drive around the rim until you reach Olmoti Crater. If you feel like stretching your legs, you can opt for a guided walk from the Camp up to the rim of Olmoti Crater, passing through dense forest and waterfalls. Dinner and overnight at The Highlands.

DAY 2: After an early morning breakfast, depart with your guide for Ngorongoro Crater, it will take an hour's drive before you get to the descent road. Spend the morning here on the vast crater floor, looking for animals such as; lion, leopard, black rhino, elephant, buffalo, zebra and wildebeest. Find a shady spot for a picnic lunch, before heading back home. Back home, relax for a while, then towards late afternoon, go to one of the nearby Maasai villages, and learn about their rich culture and also take part in their afternoon activities, which often includes rounding up cattle into the boma for the night. Dinner and overnight at The Highlands.

DAY 3: Today, after breakfast, you will drive 3 hours away to Manyara Airstrip, where you will catch a flight to Serengeti. Fight time is approximately 45 minutes. On arrival into Serengeti, your guide will meet you and transfer you by road to Kimondo Migration Camp, with a game drive done along the way. A leisurely lunch, and then an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti, whose area is 15000 square kms of vast savannah plains. The Serengeti is part of the Masai Mara - Serengeti ecosystem, where around 2 million herds of wildebeest, zebra & gazelle make their Great Migration year round. Return to Camp early evening, in time for drinks around the campfire. Dinner and overnight at Kimondo Migration Camp.

DAY 4 & 5: Game drives will be done in the early morning and late afternoon, when wildlife is the most active. On your game drives, you will search for big cats on the prowl, hippos wallowing in muddy pools and graceful giraffe browsing the fresh roots of an acacia tree. In between game drives, you will return to Camp for a delicious lunch, have a siesta after, or catch up on a good book. Kimondo Migration Camp is known as a mobile camp that moves around the Serengeti each year to locate itself as close as possible to the predicted location of the Great Migration herds of up to 2 million wildebeest, zebra and gazelle. Sightings of the migration cannot be guaranteed, as with all wildlife sightings, but the Camp aims to give good chances of being in the right location at the right time. Evenings are spent sharing the day's stories with other Camp guests. Dinners and overnights at Kimondo Migration Camp.

DAY 6: After a final morning game drive and lunch, in the mid afternoon, drive to the airstrip for your flight to Lake Victoria. Upon arrival, your guide from Rubondo Island will meet and transfer you by road, to your island accommodation through the dense tropical forest. Afternoon is at leisure for you to settle in, relax for the rest of the day or go on a boat ride on the lake in the late afternoon to enjoy sunset views across the lake. Dinner and overnight at Rubondo Island Camp.

DAY 7 & 8: Due to heat of the day, activities here take place in the morning and afternoon, with the rest of the day spent to relax at Camp or by the pool. Rubondo Island Camp is the only accommodation available on the island, offering guests an exclusive experience. Guides here take you through a variety of activities including; nature walks, birding trips, boating, fishing, and joining researchers on the chimpanzee habituation experience. One morning you will set out by boat with a guide, researcher & ranger to search for chimpanzees, typically to a different part of the island and then walking through the thick forest. Sightings are not guaranteed as this habituation programme is still a work in progress. But you very well may be some of the first travelers to meet the island's chimps. Other activities available include; boating on the lake, fishing for Nile Perch, birding - some unusual species are found here like the African grey parrot, and even forest drives, where you can possibly encounter sitatunga or a forest elephant. Dinners and overnights at Rubondo Island Camp.

DAY 9: After a last breakfast, drive shortly to the airstrip for your flight back to Kilimanjaro Airport, taking a picnic lunch with you. Flight time is approximately 4 hours, with a few stops in Serengeti to drop off/pick up other passengers. Once you land at Kilimanjaro Airport, claim your baggage and check in for your international flight back home.
