Day 1: Arrival into Nairobi
Upon arrival into Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to the Giraffe Manor, located in Nairobi's Langata suburb. Depending on your arrival time, and time permitting, you can visit nearby attractions such as The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (entrance fee payable), Kazuri Beads Factory, Utamaduni, Mattbronze or otherwise just visit the AFEW Giraffe Centre next door. You are booked on full-board basis, where all your meals & selected house drinks are included. Champagne, luxury spirits, selected wines, massage treatments, health insurance, tips and all personal effects are not included.
Day 2: Drive to Solio Lodge
After breakfast, you will be driven in your own exclusive 4WD vehicle to Solio Lodge, located on a private wildlife sanctuary, between the slopes of Mount Kenya and the peaks of the Aberdare mountains. This Gold Eco-Rate Lodge is the only guest accommodation on the 45000-acre Solio Game Reserve. This Reserve is internationally recognized as the most successful private rhino breeding reserve in Kenya, and sightings of up to 40 rhinoceros at a go is not uncommon. Imagine the exclusivity of the wildlife experience here, which is rich in wildlife.
Day 3: Solio Lodge
Enjoy an excursion to the Aberdare National Park, or otherwise go for a walk in the Conservancy. Visit a local farm, go horse riding, mountain biking, bush breakfasts and sundowners. All meals & selected house drinks are included. Champagne, luxury spirits, selected wines, health insurance, tips, scenic helicopter ride, massage treatments, visits to Cinnabar Green and all personal effects are not included.
Day 4: Drive to Sasaab
After breakfast, you will be driven in your 4WD vehicle to Sasaab, located in the Northern Frontier District close to Buffalo Springs National Reserve and Samburu National Reserve. This is another Gold Eco-Rated Lodge which has been designed with a strong Moroccan design influence. Each of the 9 Moroccan-styled rooms is over 100 square meters, and has an enormous open air bathroom and private plunge pool. Views from the veranda are breathtaking, with the jagged peak of Mount Kenya, and the river down below where elephant herds come to bathe in. The area is rich in wildlife such as lion, leopard, cheetah and the 'Samburu Special Five': Beisa oryx, reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Gerenuk antelope and Somali ostrich.
Day 5: Sasaab
Enjoy shared game drives, guided bush walks, camel walks, fly camping (prior arrangements required), bush meals, sundowners, visits to the local school, clinic, village or market. All meals and selected house drinks are included. Champagne, luxury spirits, selected wines, health insurance, tips, massage treatments, quad bike excursions and all personal effects are not included.
Day 6: Fly to Sala's Camp
After breakfast, you will take a scheduled flight to Masai Mara, where Sala's Camp is located, close to the confluence of the Sand River & Keekorok River, an ideal location that attracts teeming wildlife. The location is very close to Tanzania and wonderful views of the Serengeti can be seen from Camp. The Camp is another Gold Eco-Rated Camp, with 7 luxury tents including a honeymoon tent and a family tent which can accommodate up to 4 people. All rooms have en suite bathrooms with hot showers, baths, running water and flushing toilets, as well as your own private plunge pool on your deck.
Day 7: Sala's Camp
Enjoy shared game drives, other Camp activities, bush meals, sundowners, bush volleyball and nature walks. All meals and selected house drinks are included. Champagne, luxury spirits, selected wines, health insurance, tips, in-room massage, balloon rides and and all personal effects are not included.
Day 8: End of trip
After breakfast, take a scheduled flight back to Nairobi's Wilson Airport, where you will be met and transferred by minivan to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, for your onward return international flight back home.
